Reversing Pre Diabetes Symptoms
Pre Diabetes Symptoms Breakfast
Searching for the Missing Piece of the Puzzle
Reversing Pre Diabetes Symptoms is easy when you are given the whole recipe, but unfortunately, a key part of the puzzle of preventing food cravings, weight gain, binge eating and eventually diabetes is not taught in medical school.
In fact, virtually nothing about human nutrition is taught in medical schools! They seem to think that what you choose to eat couldn't have much influence over a disease like diabetes.
Nothing could be further from the truth!
Are you one of the 35% of Americans over the age of 20 who have pre diabetes? If so, I have some great news for you! (This also applies to you if you live anywhere in the world.)
Now, while you're pre diabetic, you can easily reverse your symptoms just by making a few minor dietary changes and taking supplements that give you all the nutrients you need to get your insulin working as it should again.
Did your doctor tell you how easy reversing pre diabetes symptoms is? He didn't?
Well, to be fair to your doctor, he or she has seen many patients who are not willing to make the changes reversing pre diabetes requires. I imagine MDs get tired of hearing the excuses why patients can't quit smoking, can't eat more vegetables, can't seem to give up junk food habits, and can't find the time to exercise.
And your doctor already has many worries about declining revenue and limited time he or she can spend explaining the fine points of dieting, smoking cessation, etc.
Most doctors don't have the time or the training to spend impressing you with the importance for you of preventing what will become a terrible, painful disease.
So, it is understandable that your doctor (and most doctors these days) simply fall back on what they learned in medical school -- what drug to prescribe for each symptom.
After all, their business model -- dictated behind the scenes by the pharmaceutical industry -- is based on treating your disease for thirty years, not curing it in 30 minutes.

Why Do Most Pre Diabetics Fail to Reverse This Disease?
The average person with pre diabetes may not be aware they have a major medical challenge developing, so there is a tendency to wait, hoping the symptoms go away.
The Mayo Clinic's authoritative listing for "pre diabetes symptoms" tells us that "Often, pre diabetes has no signs or symptoms." Many people don't find out they are pre diabetic until it is discovered by a blood test during a routine office visit for some other reason.
If you weren't impressed by how serious this disease will become, you wouldn't be here, doing your research into your options. But, you are here, and that's smart!
Before I go any further, let me tell you that I'm not a doctor. I'm actually in the same boat as you. I am pre diabetic and I've been holding this disease at bay for many years (without the help of a doctor and his drugs).
I think it was the death of first one grandmother and then the other by the time I was 12 that led me to begin studying to learn how I could avoid the diabetes that killed both of them.
As it turns out, the major authoritative public health sites all spell it out pretty clearly -- and the medical protocol says your doctor should tell you the basics -- lose 5-7% of your weight and get 150 minutes of exercise per week, quit smoking, reduce stress -- and see if you can reverse the symptoms, before they place you on any of their drugs that supposedly prevent (or slow) your progress to full-fledged type-2 diabetes.
Have you ever wondered why so many people fail to lose even 5% of their weight?
With a healthier future to gain and so much to lose in a diabetic scenario, you might think the average person could force themselves to withstand temptation better than they do.
Obviously, there are temptations on all sides for the pre diabetic who is trying to stick to a somewhat restrictive diet. But there is also a physiological factor that is driving us to seek nutritional elements that just aren't available in our food.
We are craving the minerals we lack to allow our insulin to do its natural function. Unfortunately, due to processing of our foods and the depletion of our agricultural soils, it is impossible to find these trace minerals by eating even the healthiest of diets.
We must supplement our diet to relieve the insatiable hunger that drives pre diabetics off their well-intended weight loss efforts.
Would you be curious why diabetes was cured in animals in 1959, but this discovery was largely ignored by the pharmaceutical industry? Well, it's very simple -- There's far more money to be made in treating diabetes than there is in curing it!
So this missing piece of the recipe for reversing diabetes and pre diabetes is not discussed or shared with patients because it is not possible to obtain a patent on natural substances like minerals and herbs.
Without providing those attempting to change their diet with the missing minerals that are missing from our overworked, depleted soils, dieters face irresistible cravings to indulge in foods that they hope will temporarily fulfill that need -- but satisfaction is nowhere to be found without the exact nutritional recipe our body needs.
Binge-ing on sweets, refined flour pastries, and cookies will only hasten total insulin burnout. Without the minerals needed to restore insulin's correct function, no satisfaction of your raging appetite will be possible.
We'll set aside the importance of quitting smoking and moderating drinking because most people already have done this, I hope.
I will mention in passing that there are several doctors who prescribe a vegan, low-fat, plant-based diet with documented success in reversing diabetes and pre diabetes, but this is a hard diet to sell to Mainstream America, even though it works.
See the book Dr. Neal Barnard's Program for Reversing Diabetes for ideas on healthy recipes and the successes seriously diabetic people have had in clinical research settings.
I am working on resolving the apparent disconnect between the vegan diet advocates and those medical researchers who say that the trace mineral chromium in supplementation should resolve insulin-resistance by itself. (My compromise, at this point, is to eat a predominantly plant-based diet and also take the chromium supplements. This seems to be working well for me.)
It is interesting -- and perhaps a clue -- that one common factor that both the vegan-diet advocates and the chromium-supplementation advocates support is that there are far too many Omega-6 oils and trans-fats in our diet.
Reversing pre diabetes is obviously a complex problem, but I have found great relief in a consensus solution that most credible health researchers agree on to some degree. In the final accounting, we each need to find and practice a solution that works for us -- merely taking drugs or mineral supplements alone will not, by themselves, do the job.
